Hi, Dan!! Everything in your yard is looking so beautiful!!

Thanks for including me in this episode, too. So fun!!

It took a couple days to get the bird feeders up, and the birds are now visiting regularly!!

I have seen goldfinches, yet they don’t seem to be eating the thistle. I might need to move the feeder (or maybe I need the more expensive feeder).

I’m refilling the squirrel proof feeder like yours every day!

I also have a small basket on my pole in which I put the “no mess” seed, but the chipmunks scramble up the poll and eat it, so I need a baffle if I’m going to use that feeder.

I need another shepherd’s hook for the oriole feeder.

It looks like another trip to Wild Birds Unlimited needs to happen soon!

I’m thinking of taking a video of my yard to share with you, too. I’m pretty sure all my birdhouses are populated and that babies will be emerging in the next few weeks.

BTW: I did see a hummingbird on Friday!! It must have been looking for the feeder where I had it last year near the pond. Making more nectar to set out tomorrow!

There are different solutions to keeping the chipmunks off the pole. You can get one that is higher. You can put vaseline on the pole(!) You can spray the area with scents chipmunks don't like. I think the first one may be your best bet as I've not had to resort to either of the other two!

Home Depot has the pole/hook that I have. It's pretty inexpensive at just under $20. However, if you want to go back to Wild Birds Unlimited, I'm game!

I'd love to see a video of your garden and share it! You'd likely get feedback from others who might give you some suggestions. If not, I'll be sure to record some when I come to your house during the July 4th weekend!

Thanks for the help, Dan! I’ll try the Home Depot pole first. Jeff wants to try the Vaseline 😂

First, I hope the ankle is feeling better! I’m on Team Wrigley and Team Hosta both.

I know it Seems weird to ask when it’s hotter than the surface of the sun, but how long does it take to shovel/plow that driveway?

Well, since we head off to Palm Springs for the winter we have a service that does it. If Frank and I happen to be around when it snows, and it's less than 2 inches, it could take about an hour or so. Thankfully, we try to escape during that time!

Hi Dan I am jealous of all the beautiful color you have in the park. Things seem to be slow to bloom in our garden. Hope to post a video later this week. Can't wait to see Palangeau park in person when I visit in a couple weeks.

Hope your ankle feels better. And keep an eye on those golden rods. Once they start to get established, I’ll start taking over things. We’ve got them out here like crazy. Good thing is they pull out pretty easily. So you can shape your golden Rod patch to your liking :-).

Thanks Jeff. Yes, I'm watching them closely. They're so tall that I don't want them to be the dominant feature!

It’s Belgium, Dan, BELGIUM! 😁 Fun episode. I hope your ankle gets better soon, and thanks for including Wrigley for me! Have a great week. By the way, it’s hot across the Atlantic as well—early nineties Fahrenheit, but not as humid.

Sorry about that! I don't know where I got France from! I won't forget next time! I was in Belgium once as a part of cruise. We spent a lovely day in Bruges.
