A sweet and very relatable film. I thoroughly enjoyed it. You’d have to be pretty callous not to.

That looks pretty cute, Dan! Thanks....so, where do people see movies these days? Just kidding....I would like to see it, but I'd more likely see it online. I enjoyed noticing the writing team (at least by their names) seem similarly differently-international (I do so struggle with being PC)! That had to have made for a smoother (and more grounded) script. Thanks again!

Yeah, the film is playing in theaters right now but I wouldn't be surprised if it became available for streaming within the next month. The theatrical window is pretty short these days. Thanks for reading and commenting!

I enjoyed this review and as a romance lover and a Jonathan Groff groupie I’m going to see it. One thought with Naveen’s more resistant mindset regarding his relationship with Jay in the context of cross cultural stories and their dynamic is that I’d expect Naveen to be this way. Where there is a prevailing, dominant culture which highly values heteronormativity (and shuns other forms of romantic love), regardless whether the parents are accepting and supportive of queer children, the children are often caught in this dynamic of shame and resentment. If Naveen wasn’t this way, I think it would be less realistic.

Interesting point. My thought is that with Naveen's parents being so progressive he might have inherited some of their openness. Still, his perspective is fresh and their dynamic is fascinating to watch.
