Ang Lee's version is one of my absolute favorite films. Not in a rush to see this one, though I love Gladstone's work. Maybe I'll catch it on a plane when it trickles down to there.

The original was fun. I'm so sick of remakes and one effect of them is that younger people don't realize there's an original. Sometimes they can be good, but this doesn't sound like it will be.

As a big fan of the original--Ang Lee knows how to pull my heart strings--I think I'll skip the remake. Nice to see they tried to update it, but without a banquet, I will not RSVP'ing to the wedding. :-p

It’s generally a genial film with likable people. I guess the best that can be said is that it gives us a look back at how it was even though it is set in current times. My big question after watching it, though, is . . . where’s the banquet?? There is none and certainly no wedding banquet. Hmmmm.
